Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS Framework)

The EYFS Framwork sets the standards to make sure that children aged from birth to 5 learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) has Seven educational programmes.

These 7 areas of Learning and Development are:

  • Communication and Language
  • Personal Social and Emotional development
  • Physical development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

Observation and Assessment

Throughout your child’s time in our Nursery, their development is observed and recorded, and used in planning activities to help them move to the next stage. Our staff will make monthly reflections of each child, record these in the child’s own personal on-line Learning Journal and liaise with parents who can also record any home observations into this folder.
