Welcome to Hatfield College - and congratulations on your academic success!
We are looking forward to meeting you when you come to Durham to join Hatfield College in September. Present students and staff will make every effort to ensure you feel very welcome and supported from the start.
Hatfield is a modern-minded College with roots in the traditions of the past - we were founded in 1846, and so in your first year we will be celebrating our 175th anniversary. Above all, we are a community living and working alongside and supporting each other. Our students come from near and far, from large cities and small towns, from many different backgrounds and experiences, and are studying for degrees across the full subject spread. The diversity of our community is one of our great strengths. We welcome and value the contributions of everyone, and we are proud to embrace our ethos #AllOneHatfield.
Our student Common Rooms are important parts of life in the College. Do join the Junior Common Room (if you are an undergraduate) or the Middle Common Room (if you are a postgraduate). You will be contacted about this in September. The Common Rooms play an essential part in organising activities and events, and in providing resources and facilities which support and enhance the quality of their members' experience of College life, as well as representing students' views in College and the broader university. The student Common Rooms are a very important, central feature of our College community.
You are welcome to contact us if you have questions via hatfield.pg-admissions@durham.ac.uk or telephone +44 (0) 191 334 2610.
Lastly, beware fake Facebook pages about Induction Week in Durham. Only follow links from documents and links in or through this website with "dur.ac.uk" in the relevant part of the address. If you are not certain that a Facebook page or web link is genuine, do contact us.
I very much look forward to welcoming you in Hatfield in September.
