Catering

We aim to return to our traditions and social dining as soon as it is safe to do so. For now, as the Covid-19 situation evolves, we will be ensuring that our catering provision remains consistent with government guidelines and good safety practices, to offer the best we safely can to our students and staff.

Outside of pandemic conditions, our usual dining arrangements are these:

Undergraduate

Hild-Bede is a fully-catered College, providing three meals per day to its student residents. Meals are held in our onsite Dining Hall.

Special dietary requirements can be met for vegetarian, vegan, halal, gluten-free, lactose intolerant, nut-free or other options. Please contact us to enquire.

Our food is well-renowned throughout the University for its high quality.

The Dining Hall is the most used facility in the complex. Here meals are prepared and served three times a day by highly competent staff to enable students and staff to dine together collegiately.

Formal Dinner Events

The Hall is also the venue for our eight black-tie Formal Dinners and the two Ball Dinners that take place each year.

 

Postgraduate

Postgraduates living in college accommodation are fully-catered during undergraduate term-time, receiving three meals per day, and self-catered outside of term-time.

Meals are held in our onsite Dining Hall, the most used facility in the complex. Here meals are prepared and served three times a day by highly competent staff to enable students and staff to dine together collegiately. The Hall is also the venue for the eight black-tie Formal Dinners and the two Ball Dinners that take place each year.
