College Allocation Statistics - Undergraduates

The below statistics are available to provide applicants with information relating to college preferences and the likelihood of being allocated to a particular college.

The figures used in the statistics tables were downloaded on 31 January 2021.

1. ORIGINAL PREFERENCES
   The number of applicants who were made a conditional or unconditional offer for 2020 entry.
   
   
2. OFFERS MADE
   The number of offers made to individual colleges. (Note: 11 applicants withdrew or declined the offer before being allocated to a college).
   
   
3. GOT PREFERENCE
   The number of applicants who had a preference for a college and were allocated to that preference.
   
   
4. % OF OFFERS MADE
   This is the number who GOT PREFERENCE divided by the number of ORIGINAL PREFERENCES shown as a percentage. This shows the likelihood of an applicant being allocated to a particular college.

Please note:
A number of applicants have a change of college after allocation. The majority of these changes of college are undertaken during the August confirmation period. This is where the University is required to reallocate to other colleges a number of applicants who did not meet the conditions of their offer or had accepted their offer from Durham as insurance. These applicants will have actually received an offer from their preferred college, but the second table will show in a different college. There are also a smaller number of applicants who are reallocated due to medical conditions or other healthcare needs.
