Durham University Archery Club is a friendly, active club that is steadily growing. We cater for a full range of abilities from complete beginners to experienced archers and have a large amount of equipment for our members to use. Although the club focuses on recurve and barebow archery, traditional and compound archers are welcome to join.

Club members regularly compete in the North of England Universities Archery League (NEUAL) between other universities in the region. There are separate male and female categories for both experienced and novices in recurve, barebow compound and longbow archery.

As well as league matches, there are larger NEUAL competitions - the Team Championships, Novice Championships, Indoor and Outdoor Championships as well as BUCS Indoor and Outdoor competitions between universities throughout the country.

Additional Information

The club meets 5 times per week and for new members, the club runs two-week beginners courses in the first and second terms which gives an introduction to archery. After the course, beginners will then be able to join the club as a full member and attend regular sessions. Experienced archers are able to join the club throughout the year. Those who aren’t Archery GB members should contact the club to be invited to a session to be signed off and registered.
