An XRadia/Zeiss VersaXRM 410 providing high spatial resolution scans across different working distances and time-lapse scans (4D micro-CT) is available in the Department of Engineering (E267 Higginson). The X-ray computed tomography laboratory is part of the Geotechnical Engineering laboratory within the Department of Engineering. The XRCT system is managed by Dr Alexandros Petalas.

A single XCT scan takes between 1.5 and 24hrs depending on the resolution.
The instrument is configured to allow the installation of additional environments or sample cells.
The facility is available to academic researchers as well as external (commercial or non-profit) users.
