Session description

In all academic work it is essential to give the sources of information that you read or used. This is known as referencing. This session will show you why accurate referencing is important and how to do it. 

Learning outcomes

After attending this session, you will be able to: 

  • Recognise what referencing styles you’ll be expected to use 
  • Formulate a reference and an in-text citation 
  • Utilise the Discover search engine and other databases to create references. 

Who is this workshop for?

This session is open to all students but will be particularly useful for those undertaking their first piece of academic writing.

Facilitator

This session is delivered by an academic skills specialist from University Library and Collections.
