Session description

How do you determine which are the most relevant and reliable sources from those you have found? Being able to critically evaluate the sources you find forms a key part of your contribution to knowledge, and how you synthesise the ideas of others into your own writing whilst accounting for your own subjective bias. This session will show you how to evaluate sources critically. 

Learning outcomes

After attending this session, you will be able to: 

  • Utilise different models to effectively evaluate the relevance, validity and credibility of the sources you have found
  • Recognise and account for your own cognitive bias when evaluating sources.

This session is open to all students.
