Daniel Gaudio

Dr Daniel Gaudio

Daniel works as an assistant professor in bioarchaeology and forensic science at the Department of Archaeology of Durham University (UK). He studied skeletal remains from different time periods (including Neolithic to our contemporary epoch) and his research focuses on conflict archaeology and new methodologies in several subfields of bioanthropology and forensic science, including age at death, skeletal trauma, and taphonomy. Daniel is also interested in the impact of climate change on the biocultural heritage of mountain areas, and in particular on the glaciers of the Southern European Alps. In autumn 2022, a peer-reviewed paper focused on this matter will be published in “Nature and Culture” (Gaudio D, Gobbi M, Glaciers in the Anthropocene: a biocultural view).
