As the UK prepares to launch a new Critical Minerals Strategy, recent progress shows growing momentum across government and international partnerships.

Since 2022, the UK has expanded its infrastructure, launched the Critical Minerals Intelligence Centre, and signed bilateral agreements with key global partners.


But beyond strategy, success will depend on statecraft—using diplomatic, economic and political tools to navigate complex supply chains, align domestic priorities, and build resilient international relationships.
