Building on the theme of this year's Annual Durham World Heritage Site Lecture, by Professor Friedrich Lüth on ‘Mind the Gap: who benefits from Heritage?’, the Institute of Medieval and Early Modern Studies is sponsoring a linked WHS Workshop to bring together speakers from across different academic disciplines and local stakeholders to discuss experiences of the benefits of heritage in our own city, Durham.

The speakers, and the following discussions, will focus on the following questions:

- What benefit do participants currently associate with heritage in their respective research and/or professional activities?

- Who benefits from heritage and heritage-related activities?

- What potential benefits are not yet fully realised?

- Are there any negative impacts?

- What data collection, monitoring and evaluation processes are in place to identify, measure and/or evaluate the impacts of heritage and heritage-related activities?
