World Heritage Site Lecture: 'Recent work on the archaeology of Lindisfarne'

This year's World Heritage Site Public Lecture Series provide an opportunity to hear about recent work being carried out on the archaeology and landscape history of the North-East of England. Drawing on the latest research by staff and students in the Department of Archaeology at Durham, these short talks will help to put the World Heritage Site into its regional context. They will explore key events and places from the history of North-East England and show how they can help advance our understanding of Durham Cathedral and Castle as a major centre of power over the last millennium.

We are delighted to welcome Dr David Petts, Dept of Archaeology, Durham University who will be talking about recent work on the archaeology of Lindisfarne.
