The Centre for Visual Arts and Culture at Durham University (CVAC) promotes interdisciplinary research on visual culture.
On 8 July 2021, The Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport granted Grade II Listed status to Dunelm House. In 2017 CVAC hosted the 'Caring for Brutalism' conference which took place in the context of debate within Durham University and more widely about the future of Dunelm House conference.
