Biography

I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Durham University and Fellow of Durham Energy Institute. Before this, I worked as a post-doctoral research associate at Newcastle University, a research associate at Thapar University (India), a visiting researcher at University of Klagenfurt (Austria) and on various academic positions for more than a decade. I received my PhD degree from the Thapar University (India), my Master and Bachelor degrees from the Punjab Technical University (India). For my contributions to the area of scalable and sustainable computing, I was awarded the 2018 IEEE TCSC Outstanding PhD Dissertation Award. I also received 2021 IEEE Systems Journal Best Paper Award. To develop myself as a researcher, I worked on various research projects awarded by EPSRC, the Department of Science and Technology (India), and Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research. This facilitated me to collaborate with international researchers from the UK, US, Canada, Australia, China, Austria, Brazil, and India. Together, we published several research papers in the fields of smart grid, electric vehicles, software-defined networking, cloud data centres, edge-cloud computing, and blockchain. I led my team organizing workshops (BlockCPS, SecSDN and BlockSecSDN) in conjunction with different IEEE Communication Society conferences like IEEE Infocom, IEEE Globecom, IEEE ICC, ACM/IEEE UCC and many more. Contributing to the research community, I and serving as an Area Editor for Ad hoc Networks (Elsevier), an Associate Editor for IET Smart Grid, a Guest Editor for IEEE Transaction on Industrial Informatics and IEEE Network.
