I am interested in studying the mechanisms of unfolded protein response to endoplasmic reticulum stress. Unfolded protein response helps relieve the load of misfolded or unfolded proteins and restore protein homeostasis. In mammals, there are three signalling cascades making up the UPR pathways which are initiated by the ER transmembrane protein sensors: IRE1, PERK, and ATF6. Now, I am working on studying the human IRE1β signalling cascade in the endoplasmic reticulum stress response.
