BUSI1141: People, Management and Organisations
Please ensure you check the module availability box for each module outline, as not all modules will run in each academic year. Each module description relates to the year indicated in the module availability box, and this may change from year to year, due to, for example: changing staff expertise, disciplinary developments, the requirements of external bodies and partners, and student feedback. Current modules are subject to change in light of the ongoing disruption caused by Covid-19.

Modes of Teaching, Learning and Assessment and how these contribute to the learning outcomes of the module
- Learning takes place through attendance at lectures, preparation for and participation in seminar classes and assessments and through private study. Seminar preparation and activity will require students to refer to relevant academic and other sources, to conduct basic enquiries with managers, employees and others and to apply concepts to a variety of cases, questions and situations.
- Formative assessment is by means of a group presentation which will involve an enquiry into real world illustrations of concepts relevant to the module content.
- Summative assessment is by means of an individual assignment requiring investigation of relevant literature and its application to specific business situations. This will test knowledge, understanding, application of enquiry and other skills and appreciation of key concepts and issues.
