Can be paid towards tuition fee costs, accommodation or directly into the recipient's bank account in termly instalments

Eligibility

Applicant should:

  • have a household income below £47,200 

and

  • significant academic achievement and potential 

and

  • demonstrate a willingness to contribute fully in College life 

Applications are also welcome from candidates from the following groups; black and minority ethnic students (BAME), caregivers, care leavers and disabled students

1.    Current Undergraduate at St Mary's College with course commencing academic year 2022/23

2.    Complete a scholarship application

Submit an online scholarship application including a personal statement describing:

    • how the Oakley Scholarship would help you to study at Durham University
    • why you are studying at Durham University and particularly the programme you have chosen
    • your career aspirations and interests
    • your financial circumstances 
    • examples and experience demonstrating your involvement in College life

3.    Selection process

    • Applications will be considered on the basis of their ability to meet the eligibility criteria, academic potential and demonstration of involvement in College life
    • In addition to the information supplied on the scholarship application form, the College will gather contextual information to support the assessment of applications
