A middle-aged couple on the brink of divorce embroil the audience in sadistic game-playing and vitriolic scrapping as this classic Edward Albee play reaches its famous conclusion.
Castle Theatre Company's poster, featuring a clock and portrait of a lady.
Albee’s play examines the complexities of the marriage of a middle-aged couple, Martha and George. Late one evening, after a university faculty party, they receive an unwitting younger couple, Nick and Honey, as guests, and draw them into their bitter and frustrated relationship. Set in 1960s New England, the play delves into George and Martha’s ‘games’ and the fantasies that they hide themselves in.
