Team Durham are lucky to receive substantial support from a range of National Governing Bodies to enable us to deliver our sports programmes to the highest of standards, with opportunities for our athletes and coaches. Durham is also supported by the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) and UK Anti-Doping (UKAD).

Rugby Football Union (RFU)

The RFU has a close partnership with Universities across the country, providing support and resource to enable partner institutions to deliver a broad rugby programme for students, from representative competition in BUCS to more local opportunities and off the pitch development as coaches and officials. There is a focus on growth, sustainability and transition of students into and out of their university rugby programmes.

British Rowing is the governing body for the sport of rowing (both indoor rowing and rowing on water). They are committed to ensuring that the sport continues to thrive from the grassroots right up to winning medals at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The R&A - Golf

The ECB runs successful England teams, oversees domestic and recreational cricket, and runs participation programmes.

Lawn Tennis Association (LTA)

The LTA's vision is Tennis opened up; to grow tennis by making it relevant, accessible, welcoming and enjoyable. The LTA are here to govern and develop tennis in Britain, from grassroots participation through to the professional game.

TASS
Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme - TASS

TASS is a Sport England funded partnership between talented athletes, delivery sites and national governing bodies of sport. TASS work with Durham University to bring the best out of our country’s most exciting young talent. TASS helps athletes – aged 16-plus – to balance sport within the rest of their lives, be they in education, training or another form of personal development.

UK Anti-Doping (UKAD)

UK Anti-Doping is the UK’s National Anti-Doping Organisation responsible for protecting clean sport in the UK, and are governed by a worldwide agreed set of rules, protected globally by commitments from both governments and the sports movement.
