Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, (EDI) encompassing all aspects of equality, is fundamental to a supportive, progressive and successful Department.
We have a Chemistry Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, made up of representatives from all sections of the Department, that is responsible for promoting best practice in everything we do.
The chemistry EDI Committee meets regularly to discuss issues and decide on actions to improve equality, diversity and inclusion for everyone in the Department of Chemistry. The EDI committee comprises representatives from every departmental committee and all staff and student groupings.
We are proud to have held Athena Swan charter bronze award since 2014. As part of our action plan, EDI matters have been embedded in every departmental committee and we are actively working to deliver the actions identified in our 2017 Application.
