Join a journey through time as an exhibition organised as part of the Radical Dragons project reveals the rich traditions of dragons and worms in North East England, from the Middle Ages to the present day.

In this exhibition you’ll meet the heroes who dared grapple with these fearsome beasts, their powers over us, and the way their stories have fed into the (sometimes radical) history of the region.

Witness traditional crafts, hear about the heroic dragon legends, and design your own foul beasts. But beware the Brancepeth dragon in residence…

Our dragon sleeps, drowsing in plain sight, but with a clash of the Conyers falchion he may awaken to unleash his foul stench, and dribble upon your head!
