Durham theatre students posed in tree branches

Student theatre offers a great way for English students to expand and apply their literature skills. Third-year Eleanor Summer has written a blog about her experience producing a new show.

Durham's Student Theatre (DST) scene is one of the most exciting in the country, which is proved by TDTC's latest success in putting together the difficult production of Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim. Using a troupe of ten multi-rolling cast members, TDTC beautifully executed the musical with a brilliant First Night Review by Ollie Cochran, who named it 'an exemplary show that will certainly delight, bewilder, and charm you'.

Into the Woods was produced by Eleanor Summer, a third-year English Studies student. She wrote a fascinating blog piece about the production's development.

DST is a great way to get involved with student life and offers an amazing inter-collegiate and inter-subject way to make friends and memories.
