Durham Law School is a world leader in legal research and education. Our award-winning academic staff generate ground-breaking research with global impact and are active in public engagement both nationally and internationally.

Durham Law School is a top 50 QS world-ranked law school and our research was 3rd best in the UK's last national Research Excellence Framework in 2014. We are home to eight research groups creating critical mass in key research areas with a highly active series of events and collaborations.

We are internationally recognised across several key research clusters including Public Law and Human Rights, Commercial and Corporate Law, EU and International Law, Biolaw and an emerging leader in Chinese Law.

Our intellectual community comprises a diverse and international body of staff working together with a large and diverse group of postgraduate research students.
