
Durham Law School is pleased to announce the appointment, by Durham University, of David Standish as an Honorary Professor in the Law School, with effect from 1st August 2025.
David Standish currently leads the global contentious insolvency practice at Interpath (formerly KPMG’s restructuring division). David is licensed to practice insolvency in nine jurisdictions across the globe. He has led some of the largest asset recovery and enforcement programs in the world; including the groundbreaking Receivership in the $8 billion claim against Muktar Ablyazov. David is regularly instructed by government agencies including HMRC and the SFO and has worked for sovereign wealth funds across the world.
The Dean of the Law School, Professor Volker Roeben, said:
“I am delighted to welcome David Standish as an Honorary Professor in Durham Law School. We look forward to the unique contribution David will make to the Law School and its students through sharing his deep expertise, insights and experience, as a pre-eminent Global Insolvency and Asset Recovery specialist, to enrich the learning and research opportunities and outcomes for our students and for the Law School.”
