AstroLab Telescopes at Durham

Image of telescope and light entering through opening in dome

We have four telescopes on the roof of the Physics building:

  • West Dome:      a 14-inch Meade Schmidt-Cassegrain LX200GPS
  • East Dome:       a 14-inch Meade LX200-ACF
  • Far-East Dome: a 16-inch Meade (being commissioned)
  • DRACO2:          a remote/robotic 14-inch Meade LX200GPS

All four telescopes are currently used for direct imaging and are equipped with SBIG or QSI CCD detectors.
