Our Research cuts across four key themes which represent areas of existing excellence and planned investment and growth:
We encompass a breadth of activities, with our main focus on the application of social science methods and concepts to social and policy issues.
Cutting across the Department and the wider Faculty and institution, colleagues in the Department are actively involved in Interdisciplinary Research Centres, notably Violence and Abuse, Social Justice and Community Action, and in Institutes including the Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience and the Institute of Advanced Study and the Wolfson Research Institute for Health and Wellbeing.
The Faculty of Social Sciences and Health has an extensive global collaboration in research and education with partners across the world, promoting Social Science solutions to the world’s greatest challenges.
