Undergraduate Employability and Careers

We are proud of our graduates who go into a wide range of careers. You may find it explodes some stereotypes about where a degree in Theology and Religion can lead you!

Our degree programmes prepare you to be creative, analytical, empathic, and communicative. These are characteristics that are highly desirable for employers. In some cases, employers also want to employ graduates with a deep understanding of what makes different people and groups tick. Here subject-specific knowledge about belief, faith, and worldviews is highly valued.

For me, Theology ticks both key boxes of being a really enjoyable, interesting degree, but also giving you the life skills and the career skills to go out there and get a great job.

  • Journalism, TV, other media (Television Executive, Exhibition Manager, Journalist)
  • Charities and NGOs
  • Teaching, social work (Teacher, Youth Justice Worker, College Principal)
  • Government and public service (Civil Servant, Army Officer, Police Officer)
  • Further study (MA in Philosophy, Theology, International Relations, Business Management)
