Discover the Durham Centre for Academic Development at Durham University
The Durham Centre for Academic Development (DCAD) prepares hundreds of students for life in their academic departments through our Pre-Sessional and Foundation Programmes. In addition we support those developing as Teachers of English as a Second Language through our MA TESOL and Applied Linguistics Programme.
A world of career opportunities
The Durham Centre for Academic Development offers excellent opportunities for those starting out in the field, and both inexperienced and experienced language teachers to develop careers in English language teaching.
The MA in TESOL and Applied Linguistics is suitable for anyone with an interest in the wider aspects of teaching English as a foreign language. A key focus throughout this course is on independent learning and student engagement.
