As part of Durham Global Week, we are delighted to announce the shortlists for the Local to Global and Respect, Fairness and Equity awards.

Individuals and teams from across the University have received nominations for their contributions to our cultural diversity and the impact made by projects, partnerships and collaborations on a global level.

There are nine award categories:

  • Global Curriculum
  • Global Student Experience
  • Global Volunteering
  • Global College
  • Lifetime Achievement
  • Global Professional Services
  • International Partnership
  • Local to Global
  • Respect, Fairness and Equity

There are 2 shortlists for the Local to Global award category and 3 shortlists for the Respect, Fairness and Equity award category. The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 10 March 2023.

Local to Global Award

This award recognises the importance of our collaboration with local partners for the delivery of our international mission and ensuring that our region can benefit from the richness of our international student and staff community.

Respect, Fairness and Equity Award

This award is given to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to progressing respect, equality, diversity and inclusion for other cultures at the University. It recognises those who celebrate diversity and difference and encourage others to do the same.
