Investigating Engagement & Inclusion in L1 tutorials

Small-group tutorials form a central learning activity for L1 Foundations of Physics students in which students work through questions with the guidance of their tutor. This is an education-research project which is investigating the efficacy of one-or-more different approaches to the delivery of engaging and inclusive, small-group physics tutorials. The project considers aspects of tutorial delivery, using an evidence-based approach to assess their efficacy. Potential avenues of exploration include investigating the inclusion of different genders, personality types or otherwise, or how tutorial questions can be tailored to encourage optimal student interaction.
