Dangoor Scholarships 

Supporting first-year undergraduate students enrolled in a STEM programme.

The Dangoor scholarships are supported by Mr Naim Dangoor and give Durham University the opportunity to award scholarships to talented undergraduate students studying science, technology, engineering, and mathematics subjects.

Eligibility

  • First-year students who commenced their studies at Durham University in 2025/26;
  • Studying programmes in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM);
  • Household Income below £42,875;
  • Academic excellence as demonstrated in the UCAS application, including GCSE results, A-level or equivalent results and merit or potential as demonstrated in the Personal Statement.

Application Process

  1. Complete a scholarship application

    Submit the following by 21st November 2025

     

     

    • Provide a copy of your Student Finance letter confirming the amount of maintenance loan you are receiving. You can attach the letter to the application form. 

     

    Application deadline: 21st November 2025

     

    Candidates will hear the outcome of their application by mid-December 2025.

  2. Selection process

    • All eligible applications for the Dangoor Scholarship will be considered based on their personal/UCAS statement and academic excellence.

     

    • Other scholarship awards may also be taken into account when considering the allocation of the scholarship.

     

    • The University may use additional datasets to identify applicants who come from neighbourhoods with low overall progression to higher education or high levels of socio-economic deprivation.
