North East Scholarships

Durham University is committed to supporting the best students irrespective of financial circumstances.  The following scholarships are either funded by the university, through partnerships with external organisations or through generous donations from alumni and friends of the University.

All financial support opportunities have associated eligibility criteria such as household income therefore it is essential applicants consider all requirements prior to submitting an application.  Please also ensure you observe any application deadlines and submission requirements.

Durham Inspired North East Scholarships (UG) Scholarship paid directly to recipient. Applicants from the North East of England with a household income below £42,875.  Eligible postcode regions: CA, DH, DL, NE, SR or TS. £4,000 per academic year.

Glaister Northern Scholarships (UG)

£2,500 scholarship paid directly towards tuition or residential costs. £1,500 scholarship paid directly to recipient to cover costs associated with internships/international experience/wider student experience.

Applicants from the North East of England and Cumbria with a household income below £42.875.  Eligible postcode regions: CA, DH, DL, LA, NE, SR, TS. £4,000.00 per academic year.

St Nicholas Scholarships (UG) Paid directly to the recipient Applicants who are resident in one of the 26 wards of Newcastle City Council with a household income below £42,875 £2,500 per academic year
