Living In VS Living Out  Our collegiate system makes Durham exceptional. Here, every student is a proud member of a college, regardless of whether you ‘live in’ student accommodation or ‘live out’ in private housing. To help you explore both options fully, we have invited a panel of current postgraduate students to weigh up the benefits of living in vs living out of college. Transitioning From UG To PG Study  Are you feeling a little apprehensive about making the step up to postgraduate study? Maybe you'd just like a little more insight into the demands of a postgraduate degree? Join our experts to help you connect the dots between UG and PG study. CAS (Confirmation Of Acceptance For Studies) Process For International Offer Holders If you are an international student, you will need a student visa to study in the UK, you’ll need a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) before you apply for it. In this session we have invited experts from our admissions team to unpick the CAS process and explain it to you in more detail. Alumni Stories Join us for a session with our alumni. Who better than to speak to you about their experience than those that have walked in your shoes? Our alumni will be on hand to share their insights into being a postgraduate student at Durham and the journey they have been on since graduating. Student Enrichment Opportunities Whatever you love doing, whatever you may like to try, you will find support and inspiration here.  87% of students engage, participate, excel and give back in a prolific variety of extra-curricular events, programmes and activities in sport, theatre, music and volunteering. This session will be led by our Student Enrichment team to help you understand what opportunities are available to you during your time here as a postgraduate student.   22 August 2024 18:00hrs
An Introduction Into Our Virtual Learning Environment: Learn Ultra

Learn Ultra is the University's new Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) - which will be a key resource during your time here at Durham. On Learn Ultra you can access course material from your lecturer, submit your assignments, take part in group discussions, as well as access additional support like the Careers Service or library services. Join this session to help give you a sense of the learn ultra platform before you arrive in Durham and start your studies.  

*Please note- this is a basic introduction and overview to the platform. Your module convenor or the programme team will explain how they intend to use Blackboard at the start of the course.
