David joined the EDI Unit in March 2024, working to further support and enable the EDI strategic framework, and provide support to Durham University’s academic departments and faculty teams. Having studied at Newcastle University, he joined Durham in 2016 as a postdoctoral researcher and part-time member of teaching staff in the Department of History, before joining University College as Assistant Principal (student support team lead) in 2019. In 2022, David moved to the Student Conduct Office team as a specialist case manager focusing on responding to disclosures and reports of Gender-Based Violence and Sexual Misconduct. In his EDI role, he has a particular interest in research culture, and in ongoing work regarding SMV prevention.
