What is a Diploma Supplement?

The Diploma Supplement is a document which describes your qualification in a standard format that is designed to be easily understood and straightforward to compare. It contains information on the level, context, content and status of the studies that were successfully undertaken. This is a generic document which normally accompanies your transcript.

Can I have my documents sent by courier service?

We can send documents by courier, the following charges apply:

  • Courier UK £18
  • Courier (Europe) £26
  • Courier (Worldwide) £36

If these are your original degree documents, to be despatched following the ceremonies, please follow the link given in the Ceremonies Unit emails.

Transcripts

 

What information is shown on my transcript?

Your transcript will show details of:

  • Legal name, date of birth, college, mode of study
  • The degree you obtained
  • The dates you attended University
  • Date of award (where appropriate)
  • The modules you undertook whilst studying with marks

How much will a transcript cost?

Electronic transcripts cost £7.50 per qualification.

Hard copy transcripts prices:

  • 1 for £12
  • 2 for £20
  • 5 for £25
  • 10 for £40
  • 15 for £55
  • 20 for £70

How do I order a transcript?

You can order and pay for a transcript via our Online Document Store.

Can I order two transcripts and get these sent to two different locations?

Yes, you can provide multiple delivery addresses for your transcripts when ordering.

Does Durham have electronic transcripts?

We are now able to offer a pdf of your transcript, via email, which will include a stamp and signature, through our Online Document Store.

When I have ordered a transcript how long will it take?

You must allow up to 10 working days for us to produce your order. At certain times of the year (i.e. after congregation) the volume of requests can mean that this may be slightly longer than usual. If you studied with us before 1999 this may also take longer to produce.

Can I remove or add modules to my transcript?

The transcript is an official document, we are unable to add or remove modules from transcripts.

I need a form to go with my transcript, what should I do?

When placing your order there is an opportunity to upload a form to accompany your transcript. You can also hand the form in at the Student Services desk in the Palatine Centre and the team will ensure this accompanies your transcript(s).

My course was validated by the University of Durham, can I still get a transcript?

Yes, please order via our Online Document Store.

Can I collect my documents or can a friend collect them on my behalf?

It is possible to select to collect your ordered documents or you can arrange for a friend to collect your order documents on your behalf.  You should include the name of your friend when placing an order.

Can you supply my transcripts in separate stamped envelopes?

Yes, there is an option to select separate Durham University named envelopes for each transcript which we stamp with the University shield across each seal and tape. There is a charge of £1 per envelope.

What happens if the document I ordered does not arrive?

Once a reasonable period of time has lapsed, we will re-issue your documents without charge.

Can you convert my Durham marks to a GPA?

No. The University does not operate a GPA ranking and does not have an agreed GPA scale. The University’s classification arrangements are designed to be consistent with the QAA Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (England, Wales and Northern Ireland). We can provide a letter to confirm that a GPA is not available.

I just need to prove my qualification and don't need a transcript, What should I order?

You can order a Confirmation of Award letter (Graduates) via our Online Document Store. This will confirm your qualification.

Parchments

 

What is a Parchment?

A parchment is the word which the University uses to mean your certificate. Your parchment is an official document which proves that you have a University of Durham qualification which includes:

  • Undergraduate degrees
  • Postgraduate degrees
  • Certificates and diplomas of higher education

How do I order a replacement Parchment/Degree Certificate?

You can order a Replacement Parchment via our Online Document Store. The original must be lost, damaged or stolen. We are unable to replace degree parchments whilst they are still in transit.
