Durham University Taekwondo Club travelled to Cardiff last month, to compete in the last leg of the Taekwondo BUCS Championship Series. Read on for a full performance review.

Last month, Durham University Taekwondo Club competed in their 3rd BUCS competition of the year, at Cardiff University. This competition was the final event of the Taekwondo BUCS Championship Series.

The first event of the day was Patterns, where athletes complete forms against other universities in knockout rounds. In the Pair Patterns event, Durham took both 1st , with Pradeep Chandrasekera and Lara Walters, and 2nd , with Lee Stonehouse and Kira Wallace.

Moving to the Sparring competition, the team performed incredibly picking up 2 silver medals (Tom Hawksley and Kira Wallace) and 2 bronze medals (Lara Walters and Morgan Giles). With these performances, the team accrued an impressive 50 BUCS points - taking DU Taekwondo to over 120 BUCS points for the year! Well done to all those who made the journey down to compete.
