Durham University has three women's teams and three men's teams in the BUCS league. The men's and women's 1st teams are in the Northern Premier leagues, competing at the highest level in BUCS. Being one of the few clubs that train together as a mixed team, this club has a great social atmosphere and create tight bonds and lasting friendships between members. The 1st teams train four times a week and play their BUCS matches on a Wednesday.

The badminton club also have a Development Squad which allows them to cater for players of all levels. Students of all abilities have the opportunity to be coached by 1st team players in a two-hour weekly session. The club welcome anyone to attend these sessions and team members have regularly been recruited from the development squad to attend team training.
