Cricket (Men's)

Club Captain: Jamie Khan2 Cricketers
Coach: Mel Betts

Durham University Cricket Club has played at the Racecourse since 1843. DUCC trains in the Sport and Wellbeing Park's Sports Complex using state-of-the-art indoor facilities. The club provides cricketers with the opportunity to compete at university, national and international levels with a recent tour to Cape Town, South Africa in 2018. DUCC runs four teams competing in the BUCS National, North A and North 2B Leagues enjoying success in all these competitions. Durham has held MCCU status between 2001 and 2020. During this time we have been MCCU Two Day Champions, Two time Challenge Final Winners and recently won the BUCS National League in 2018. With the MCCU scheme halting this year we look forward to embracing the new competition season.

On the other side, DUCC provides an encouraging and enthusiastic environment in which players can grow as individuals. The social side of cricket is a value which the club holds dearly with regular whole club socials organised during all three terms. The environment provided by the club greatly enhances the University experience.

We are proudly Palatinate.

Facilities
The Racecourse: We are extremely lucky to play at The Racecourse, where Durham County Cricket Club used to play. We have been host to legends all around the world and the ground is an inspiration for those who want to go on to play at higher echelons.
Maiden Castle Indoor Centre: We are fortunate to move into the incredible facility in The Sport and Wellbeing Park. Our training takes place here during the winter and has 5 lanes, Merlyn and BOLA Bowling Machines, and a range of other equipment to help our players develop in the off-season.
Performance Gym: We are fortunate to use a brand new performance gym in the same facility to develop our physical fitness throughout the year with our dedicated fitness and S&C leads.
