Women's Captain: Amy Hodgson

DUSC is one of Durham University’s liveliest, most dedicated and fastest improving sports teams. We are now a large and competitive club looking to grow and improve, whilst still retaining the great spirit of friendship we pride ourselves on. Being a university team, our main competitions are the BUCS championships, with the short course BUCS being held in November and the long course BUCS in February. Being selected for the BUCS championships means a weekend away with the team, usually in Sheffield, where we make our presence felt as the loudest and best supported team on poolside. During Epiphany term we also compete in the BUCS team championships.

Additional Information

Our BUCS squad has six swim sessions and three land training sessions per week and we currently train at Freeman’s Quay and Maiden Castle. There are also opportunities for some of our squad to work with Derwentside ASC via our performance programme, which provides more sessions to our more competitive swimmers.

DUSC is a competitive club, however we also have two swim sessions and three land sessions per week available for more recreational swimmers in our development squad. Development swimmers are of course always welcome to join us at our social events.
