Touch Rugby

Presidents: Cameron Heyring and Theo Smerdon
Coaches: Shannon Gill and Caelen Brown

Durham University Touch Rugby Club is one of Team Durham’s newest clubs. Touch is an exciting game derived from rugby. Its emphasis on skill and agility makes it a fantastic sport; played mixed up to elite level, it is unsurprising that Touch is now one of the fastest growing sports in the UK.

DUTRC offers its members an array of competitive opportunities, ensuring that all those that wish to compete may do so, playing in the BUCS University National Touch Championship and friendly fixtures against regional club teams. DUTRC also hold social sessions weekly on a Saturday, that are open to all. The team strive to play a major role in developing Touch as a competitive and social activity in the North, and coordinate with local regional teams to offer referee courses, national trials and training. Whilst the standards continue to grow whilst getting the right balance of high performance and fun, inclusive Touch will always remain central to the club's ethos. Whether you are a seasoned Touch player, or a complete beginner, join DUTRC for a session!
