Water Polo

Durham University Water Polo has experienced a meteoric rise in popularity and has proven to be one of the most successful sport clubs within Durham.

The club currently has two men's and two women's teams that participate in BUCS competitions. In the past five seasons, DUWP top all other Universities with a combined eight BUCS National Championship appearances and five National Championship titles between the men’s and women’s teams.

 

Additional Information

 

Our first teams have approximately three pool water polo sessions a week along with two S&C sessions.

Our second teams have approximately two water polo sessions a week along with access to Team Durham circuits once a week. Many of the players also get access to swim passes to do swim training separately.

Ex-Durham student and local hero Matt Calvert couldn't hide his pride at captaining his side to the BUCS Championship at BUCS Big Wednesday after a hard-fought 8-5 victory over Manchester Met.
