Services and Facilities

There are a broad range of opportunities to engage with us through directly supported projects, consultancy, external use of our facilities and analytical capabilities or partnering in research applications.

Our well-appointed research labs, together with state-of-the-art analytical instruments and support services provide a unique, highly effective environment for the development of many different types of catalytic and sustainable chemical processes.

Relevant Durham capabilities used in CSCP’s research include:

  • Dedicated high pressure/high hazard reaction (autoclave) facilities
  • Bespoke nano materials handling laboratory
  • Dedicated glass-blowing, electrical, and mechanical workshops with expertise in reactor design and construction
  • X-Ray diffraction (powder and single crystal
  • X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (coming soon)
  • Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
  • Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
  • Raman Microscope
  • NMR Spectroscopy (solution- and solid-state)
  • Mass spectrometry
  • Raman and Infra-red spectroscopy (including DRIFTS)
  • BET surface area determination
  • Size-exclusion chromatography
