Paul Marsden, President of Bechtel's Energy Global Business Unit

The Energy Transition from an EPC Practitioner’s Perspective

So, what is it that makes it so hard to get to net zero by 2050?  We’ll spend some time to talk about this topic from the point of view of a practitioner, that has to engineer and construct the infrastructure that is going to be required to get us to where we need to be.  We’ll specifically focus on carbon capture, hydrogen and sustainable aviation fuels – all of which are becoming household topics.  While there are a lot of headwinds to these ambitious goals, there’s also a lot to be optimistic about!
