All are warmly invited to a special evening of Poetry and Song from the North East with poet Tom Pickard and musician and composer Ben Murray. Attendance is free and wine and soft drinks will be provided.

Tom Pickard and Ben Murray

Tom Pickard is a poet and documentary film maker from Newcastle. Widely regarded as an initiator of the British Poetry Revival in the 1960s and 1970s, he also co-founded the Mordern Tower Book Room in 1963, welcoming poets such as Alan Ginsberg, Robert Creeley, and Ed Dorn to the North East. He is the author of sixteen collections of poetry, from High On The Walls (1967) to Fiends Fell (2017).

 

Ben Murray is an actor, folk musician, composer and singer. He is one of the founding members of Tarras, and is currently performing as the Songman in the National Theatre’s international tour of War Horse.
