The World Bank has listed Yaoqi Zheng on their website as an expert since she contributed their 2023 annual report.
Yaoqi Zheng, a Durham Law School PhD candidate researching women and finance, has been listed in the experts pool of the Women, Business, and the Law Group at the Development Economics Vice Presidency of the World Bank. Yaoqi is the only person from academia in the United Kingdom.
Yaoqi earned her Master of Law (LL.M) degree from Cornell University and the Bachelor of Law (LL. B) degree in China. Professionally, Yaoqi has worked at the World Bank in Washington D.C. and the leading international law firms both in New York and Beijing. In Durham, during the academic year 2021-2022, she taught contract law.
Yaoqi contributed to the Women, Business, and the Law 2023 annual report by filling out the questionnaire about the legal situations of businesswomen in the United Kingdom. Women, Business and the Law 2023 is the ninth in a series of annual studies measuring the laws and regulations that affect women’s economic opportunity in 190 economies. It identifies barriers to women’s economic participation and encourages reform of discriminatory laws.
