The Institute of Advanced Study offers world-leading researchers a unique space for transformative reflection in and beyond individual disciplines.
Each year the IAS sponsors a number of pioneering, interdisciplinary projects and research developments, providing support for preliminary activities, major developments and follow-up. Fellows participate in a wide range of events, from public lectures to seminars and workshops. Through its website and newsletter, Transformations, the IAS connects Durham with a global College of Fellows, and former Fellows regularly return to re-engage collaboratively with Durham colleagues. Additionally, the Institute invites key-decision makers to discuss pressing policy issues with academic experts. There are many ways for scholars and practitioners to participate in the life and work of the Institute, which has now expanded its on-site activities to enable virtual engagement in the post-Covid-19 world. We warmly welcome your involvement.
