The Exploring Risk Visual Arts Festival 2025 2

[05/25] The Exploring Risk Visual Arts Festival 2025 featured the Picture of Risk exhibition, which captured stories of increasing resilience through visual arts approaches. The event was co-organised by IHRR at Durham University, Tribhuvan University, Nepal and IIT Mandi, India.

The Exploring Risk Visual Arts Festival 2025 explored stories of increasing resilience through visual arts approaches. The festival featured both video and images that depicted how communities and individuals adapt, endure, and thrive amid complex global shifts, ranging from environmental to societal crises. These stories were shared from the perspectives of global scientists, practitioners, and artists about our responses to floods, landslides, and climate change.

The Picture of Risk exhibition was held at Durham University. These images included traditional photography, drone aerial images and artworks and covered the impacts of floods, earthquakes and landslides. The exhibition was hosted across the Durham University campus and can now be seen online on the Exploring Risk website.

The event was organised by the Institute of Hazard, Risk and Resilience (IHRR) at Durham University, UK, in collaboration with the Center for Disaster Studies, Institute of Engineering (CDS-IoE), Tribhuvan University, Nepal and the Indian Institute of Technology, Mandi, India.
