If you already have a degree, our PGCE programmes are for you.
Our primary and secondary PGCE awards are equivalent to 60 Masters level credits, which is greater than the credits offered by most providers. This is also beneficial if you wish to continue your studies to a Diploma (120 credits) or a Masters (180 credits).
The School of Education is a provider of Initial Teacher Training (ITT) for both the Primary and Secondary phases.
The QTS element is accredited by Newcastle University and awarded by the Department for Education.
When you're ready to apply, you can submit your application via the Department for Education website.
Overall, the PGCE course has been such a fantastic experience for developing as a teacher and working with children day-to-day (which is the biggest highlight!).
During my PGCE, I had a fantastic Mentor in my placement school. I also received lots of support from my University tutor, as well as others in the School of Education to help me during the teaching placement.
