  • We run a wide variety of student seminars where you will have the chance to present your work to a friendly audience of your peers.
  • There are also regular research seminars and colloquia where you can learn about the cutting-edge research that is taking place at Durham and beyond.
  • In addition to the broad range of training courses offered by the Durham Centre for Academic Development, the Department also runs one-off sessions targeting topics relevant to the Mathematical Sciences. 
  • The Department has extensive expertise in grant writing and reviewing, including current and former panel members for many Fellowships.
  • There are regular postgraduate meetups, including, for example, board games and hikes, where you can meet your fellow students, build your networks, explore opportunities for knowledge exchange, and have fun!
