The Centre for Culture and Ecology Reading Group is a student-led group aimed to discuss, on a monthly basis, canonical and contemporary work in the field of Environmental Humanities. It welcomes researchers working on or simply interested in environmental issues from a range of perspectives, including English Studies, Modern Languages and Cultures, Geography, Anthropology, History, Philosophy, Classics, and more.

This term, we will be discussing a selection of seminal papers concerning issues of degrowth, decolonisation, environmental capitalism, feminism and intersectionality, also in view of the online conference on Degrowth and Decolonisation hosted by the Centre and to be held on the 24th and the 25th of June.

All sessions will take place via Zoom on Thursdays from 2pm to 3pm and are open to anyone who's interested. The papers we'll be discussing can all be accessed online.

a) Tyberg (2020), 'Unlearning: From degrowth to decolonization'

b) Dengler & Seebacher (2019), 'What about the Global South? Towards a feminist decolonial degrowth approach'

c) Perkins (2019), 'Climate justice, commons and degrowth'

New members are always welcome, including researchers from other institutions. For more information please get in touch with one of the conveners of this group via email:
